Episode 46: It happened One Night (1934)

I’ll be honest, this is a movie staring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert and directed by Frank Capra and, I’m just going to be blunt here, it’s a madcap zany comedy about a pampered socialite falling in love with a roguish reporter. All cards on the table, it came out in 1934 and won 5 academy awards.

Episode 49: Intolerance (1916)

Look, this episode isn’t very good. Maybe skip this one. You want to know about intolerance? Really? It’s like.. basically intolerance is bad, and by intolerance I mean all bad things. Bad things are bad. Next week is Rear Window that should be fun!

Episode 50: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

We got a crew talkin’ about this one. We got John! We got Michelle! We got Beth! We Got Matt! Who are those people? You’ll have to listen and find out! (You should know John by this point though)

Episode 52: Taxi Driver (1976)

Cybill Sheridan is a 40-something actress living in Los Angeles. Past her prime and working in an industry that worships youth, Cybill has the remnants of her two failed marriages all around her. Her ex-husbands, stuntman Jeff and novelist Ira, are always hanging around, sometimes sleeping on the couch. Also present are her two daughters, a grandson, and Cybill’s hysterical and slightly alcoholic best friend, Maryann.

Episode 53: The Deer Hunter (1978)

The Deer Hunter (1978) depicts the horror of war, how it corrodes the soul of men when innocent soldiers are forced in to playing Russian Roulette, which is something that never actually happened in the Vietnam war, so it’s a metaphor I guess? I don’t know. You get to see Robert De Niro’s penis.
